Welcome to the Citation Wizard, a free online utility designed to automatically generate citations according to MLA style speficiations. Citing a work is simple: select the medium that best describes what you need to cite, enter the requested information in the form, and click the "view citation" button. Your citation will appear instantly, saving you time and eliminating the hassle of consulting style manuals. The revised Citation Wizard also allows users to create bibliography documents from scratch. This feature makes it possible to begin a document, add entries, and save the finished document to your computer.

Create a bibliography

Citation Wizard is able to generate your bibliography on our server.

Creating a bibliography is simple:
  1. Click on the Create New Document button above to begin your bibliography.
  2. Generate a citation, preview it, then click on the Add to document button. Repeat Step #2 for each entry in your bibliography.
  3. You can preview or modify your document at any time by clicking on the "View/edit Entries" button above. This feature allows you to remove unwanted entries.
  4. When you're ready to save your bibliography, click on the "Save Document" button above. Bibliographies can be saved as Rich Text Documents (.rtf - recognized by most word processors) or as Citation Wizard files (.cw). The latter can only be used with the Citation Wizard LE Windows application, availble for free here.
Note: Since the Citation Wizard depends on cookies to keep track of open documents, we highly recommend that you enable cookies in your browser if you want to utilize the Create a bibliography feature.
